50 Cent is getting the recognition he rightfully deserves. Yesterday (June 20), 50 shared the news on Instagram that he will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
“Man this is some cool s–t,” he wrote as the caption. “Mom, I think I made it. LOL #lecheminduroi#bransoncognac.”
In addition to 50, Wendy Williams and Alicia Keys will also receive a star. Selection Committee Chair and Walk of Famer Vin Di Bona expressed in a press release that picking the honorees was a unique process.
“This year’s choices were particularly unique,” Bona said in a press release. “We were able to recognize the talents of 35 artists who have already built a legacy here in Hollywood. Also, we were able to celebrate many new talented artists who’ve touched our hearts in film, television, radio and a variety of musical categories.”
Throughout his career, Fif has made contributions to film and television. His show on Starz, Power, is set to return for its final season on Aug. 25. Although loyal Power fans are disheartened over the show ending, Curtis Jackson reassured fans that they will have something to look forward to. He announced that he has four spin-off shows in the works.
“The last 5 seasons of ‘Power’ have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans,” Fif said in a statement. “We are far from over and I am excited to bring you more from the ‘Power’ brand. I am proud that I was able to put a lasting stamp on this chapter with my directorial debut in an episode that features one of the wildest scenes ever on the show.”
Although many details haven’t been revealed regarding the four spin-off shows, actress Lala Anthony has confirmed that she is on board for the 50 Cent produced show Intercepted.
