DJ Mustard has plenty to celebrate these days. The acclaimed producer has come a long way since making his way into the spotlight in the early 2010s, and the city of Los Angeles is now acknowledging his achievements in a massive way.

Earlier this week, the 29-year-old artist was honored by his hometown, the latter of which officially declared June 19 as “Mustard Day.”

During a declaration ceremony, which took place in City Hall chambers, those close to Mustard gathered to praise him for his dedication to bettering the community and to celebrate his own successes in music.

“I never would have imagined having a day in the city I was born and raised in,” he said, according to Complex. “I am just super grateful and happy that I could even be named, or have a day in this city, because everything I do is for the city.”

In addition to receiving his own day, the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Los Angeles also named him as an ambassador for their organization.

“I am truly excited to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles,” he continued. “They are truly doing the important work to prepare youth to graduate from high school with a plan to support them in becoming the next generation of leaders in our community. Mentors, like my Uncle Tyrei, helped me see the possibilities of a career in music and production—I want to do the same for thousands of youth at the Clubs and help them fulfill their own personal dreams.”

On top of being honored by his hometown, Mustard is also gearing up to drop his new album, Perfect Ten, which is due out June 28.
