The Golden State Warriors gave Drake a taste of his own medicine at Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night (June 5).
During warmups for the big game, Pusha T’s infamous diss track, “The Story of Adidon,” could be heard playing in the Oracle Arena while Stephen Curry got in some practice shots.
The petty move was likely a response to Drake’s recent courtside antics. As previously reported, the Toronto native has rooted for his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors, as they face off against the Warriors to take home the NBA championship. So far, the Warriors and the Raptors are now tied 1-1.
Most recently, Drizzy took his trolling game to a new level when he joked that he was selling “Steph Curry hair lint” on eBay after Game 1 of the NBA Finals on May 30.
The Scorpion rapper’s playful banter with the NBA players hasn’t been well received by all members of the sport. After Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 21, Bucks head coach, Mike Budenholzer, called out Drake’s horseplay.
“There’s certainly no place for … whatever it is exactly that Drake is for the Toronto Raptors,” he told reporters. “You know, to be on the court, there’s boundaries and lines for a reason, and like I said, the league is usually pretty good at being on top of stuff like that.”
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old’s music was banned from one Milwaukee radio station until the series was over. More recently, a Bay Area radio station also banned his music until the end of the 2019 NBA Finals.
Overall, Drake doesn’t seem to mind those who are bothered by his behavior. He recently posted an Instagram photo of himself on the court. He captioned the snap with a shrug and salt shaker emoji. Guess we will just have to wait and see what Aubrey does next at Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday (June 7) at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.
