The drama surrounding Nipsey Hussle’s family and the mother of his 10-year-old daughter continues to mount.

On Wednesday (May 22), TMZ reported Tanisha Foster will object to the appointment of Hussle’s brother, Samiel Asghedom, as the administer of Hussle’s $2 million estate. Sources close to the situation believe Foster may ask to be appointed administrator herself, which could be a possibility if she receives custody of their daughter, Emani.

On Monday (May 20), Hussle’s sister, Samatha Smith, was granted temporary custody of Emani. A judge ruled in her favor after Smith argued Foster was unfit to parent. Earlier this month, Smith filed a petition for custody claiming that it would “ensure the continued stability for [her niece] and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with Hussle’s family.

After the sealed custody hearing, Foster told TMZ she was “pissed off” by the outcome. The ruling came hours after an arrest warrant was issued for Foster stemming over a previous DUI case.

According to Hussle’s brother, the beloved rapper died without a will. Samiel reportedly filed legal documents in May requesting to be put in charge of his late bother’s estate. Under California law, Hussle’s two children are equally entitled to his remaining net worth, meaning each would split the current $2 million evenly.

A judge is set to rule on Samiel’s request for appointment on June 10. Sources told TMZ that Foster has “tentatively” asked the probate judge to continue the estate hearings until the custody battle is settled.

If Foster wins custody of Emani, she would have a say in the handling of Hussle’s estate and posthumous profits. As Emani’s legal guardian, Foster would be entitled to use the money to provide for her daughter’s well-being until she is of age. As of now, Emani will remain in Smith’s care until the next custody hearing which is scheduled for July.
