Acclaimed radio personality J Cruz is kicking off a new chapter of his storied career.

On Thursday (April 18), the on-air veteran made his debut on Los Angeles’ REAL 92.3, after previously calling rival radio station Power 106 home.

“I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to join such a great group of legendary radio artists here at iHeartMedia’s REAL 92.3,” Cruz said in a press release from iHeartMedia. “Hosting LA’s first afternoon hip-hop ‘morning show’ with my incredible team and merging with radio’s biggest family is a game changer. A special thanks to iHeartMedia for providing me with a fresh new platform to connect with the Los Angeles urban community.”

“The Cruz Show” is set to air Mondays through Saturdays from 2pm to 7pm PT and will feature J. Cruz, Executive Producer Jeff Garcia, DJ Lechero and DJ Lezlee. The show is available for streaming via REAL 92.3 and the iHeartRadio app.

In true form to its original format, “The Cruz Show” will feature celebrity interviews, prank calls, breaking music and hip hop news, as well as the latest in local and national headlines.

As fans can attest, Cruz initially joined the Power 106 team in 2011 after a stint in Las Vegas. When he first joined the station, he worked a night shift until 2015 when he then took over the morning show after host Big Boy moved over to REAL 92.3. His move to REAL 92.3 marks their reunion, as well as signifies a new era for the two radio competitors.

“iHeartMedia is all about attracting the very best on-air talent and I’m excited to add J Cruz to the growing list of super talents in our thriving Los Angeles market,” said Doc Wynter, program director for REAL 92.3, in the company’s press release. “Big Boy in the mornings and J Cruz in the afternoons — I get chills just saying it.”

Cruz, who has interviewed everyone from Ice Cube to Post Malone to YG to Kobe Bryant, kicked off his premiere on REAL 92.3 with special guests DJ Snake, Michael Blackson and Billie Eilish.

Congrats to J Cruz and the team at REAL 92.3!
