As Coachella continues, the love for Mac Miller and Nipsey Hussle grows and takes center stage.
During night one, Anderson .Paak dedicated his performance of “Dang!” to the late rappers, and Kid Cudi followed suit during his set Saturday night.
With a stage set that included large boulders and mountains, Cudi opened his set with Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” as he began closing out day two of the festival. Cudi then performed all of his signatures hits like “Up Up & Away,” “Erase Me,” “Memories,” “Day ‘N’ Night” and “Mr. Rager” throughout the night.
“This next one, I wanna dedicate this to Mac Miller and Nipsey Hussle,” he told the crowd before performing his last song. “And I want y’all to sing this shit as loud as y’all can. Promise me.” Cudi then went on to perform “Pursuit Of Happiness.”
Day two saw a lot of surprise guest appearances. Murda Beatz brought out A$AP Ferg. Ferg had a quick high energy set that included “Work” and “Plain Jane,” while Ty Dolla $ign surprised fans during Bazzi’s set with his performances of several of his songs including “Blasé” and Post Malone’s “Psycho.” Weezer probably won for the best surprise special guest appearance as they recruited Chilli from TLC to perform a cover of “No Scrubs.”
Weekend one wraps up tonight with performances by Pusha T, Lizzo, YG, Playboi Carti, H.E.R., Bad Bunny, Blood Orange, and Khalid. Ariana Grande will close out the show. You can stream day three over at the Coachella YouTube page here.
