Jim Jones was able to avoid jail time in his Georgia drugs and firearm case after taking a plea deal.

In June 2018, Jones along with three others were arrested after leading authorities on a chase in Coweta County, GA. Once the car was stopped, authorities found weed, oxycodone, Percocet, THC oil, vape cartridges and two loaded pistols in the vehicle, including one gun that police claimed was stolen.

Jones—who was a passenger in the vehicle—admitted to owning the pills, which he claimed were a prescription. However, neither he or the other three people in the car admitted to owning the other items which resulted in everyone’s arrest.

Jones was charged with five felony counts, including felony possession of a stolen gun, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and felony possession of narcotics. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for not having the prescriptions in the original bottle.

According to TMZ, Jones was sentenced to two years probation and a $1,500 fine along with court fees.

As part of the deal, the aforementioned charges were dropped, and Jones can expect the other three to be dismissed as long as he stays off of drugs and alcohol while regularly checking in with his probation officer over the next two years.

Jim should have no trouble keeping his head up and his eyes open over the next couple of years thanks to his latest business venture. On Monday (Apr. 8), Jones announced that he is launching a consulting firm for artists. In an Instagram post making the announcement, Jones ran thru some of his accolades while announcing his new business move.

“Wit all the knowledge I’ve acquired over the years of being successful in this industry wit all the artist I helped put in positions to make they dreams come true as far as being a rapper n makin more money then they thought they ever would,” he wrote. “How to keep the money after u make it just a few of the many traits I’ve gained through out my career. I’m now startin my own consultant firm stay tuned for more details. This is what I really love to do help others n make it count.”
