On Tuesday morning (April 9), fans of the late Nipsey Hussle were able to get tickets to his memorial service set to take place at the Staples Center on Thursday (April 11). Tickets to the event sold out in just 20 minutes, media maven and entrepreneur Karen Civil later reported.

However, not long after, advertisement website Craigslist began to pull ads from scalpers attempting to resell the free tickets in exchange for monetary gain. According to TMZ, tickets to Hussle’s funeral dubbed a “Celebration of Life” were being listed on the site for as high as $500.

Fortunately, AXS.com, the site which distributed the highly coveted tickets, came up with a clever solution ahead of time to combat any scalpers seeking to profit off the beloved rapper’s death. All tickets to Hussle’s service are being distributed through the company’s mobile app and are non-transferable.

As previously reported, Hussle’s service will immediately be followed by a procession around the city of Los Angeles. His family reported made the decision to have the casket drive through different areas of his hometown to give fans unable to attend the funeral a chance to say one last goodbye before the 33-year-old is laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

On Tuesday (April 9), Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson announced his plans to introduce legislation that will help a recent petition’s intention to rename Crenshaw and Slauson Ave in honor of Hussle. Harris-Dawson, a longtime friend of the Victory Lap rapper, confirmed the intersection would be rebranded as Ermias ‘Nipsey Hussle’ Asghedom Square.

Fellow Los Angeles native and rapper Ice Cube previously told TMZ he approved of the proposed tribute to the slain artist. “Yup, why not?” he said on Saturday (April 6) when asked about it. “Yeah, man anything to honor him.”
