Boosie Badazz is in trouble with the law again.

On Monday (April 8), Badazz and his bodyguard, Antonio Allen, were arrested following a traffic stop in Newnan, Georgia. According to TMZ, an officer later identified as Sgt. Jeff Bugg pulled over the men after observing a white Dodge Charger “swerving lanes and nearly sideswiping another vehicle.”

Bugg reportedly smelled marijuana as he approached the car with Badazz (real name Torrence Hatch Jr.) behind the wheel. A search was conducted and police reportedly found a bag of marijuana, a vape pen containing THC oil, a bag of cash, and a loaded 9mm handgun under the passenger seat where Allen was sitting.

Both Badazz and Allen are currently being held in the Coweta County Jail and have been charged with possession of marijuana and narcotics and possession of a firearm. Badazz was also charged with failure to maintain a lane, The Newnan Times Herald reports.

The 36-year-old’s history with the law is well documented. In 2009, the “Independent” rapper received a two-year prison sentence for drug possession. He was later sentenced to four years for violating his probation and house arrest agreements.

In 2012, Badazz was found not guilty following a tumultuous trial for first-degree murder. He was charged for the crime in 2010 along with three counts of “conspiring to bring drugs into a penal institution.” Badazz did, however, plead guilty to the drug charges and requested drug rehab after being sentenced to eight years. He was released in March 2014 and his parole ended in 2018.

In related news, the Louisiana native recently called out an Arkansas news outlet for referring to his concerts as “violent” on air. “SMH YALL DOING THE MOST ‼️THIS IS DISRESPECTFUL N F—KS WITH MY MONEY SO YOU F—KING WITH MY FAMILY” he wrote on Instagram on Saturday (April 6).

“I WASNT AT NOT ONE OF THOSE VENUES WHEN ANYTHING WENT DOWN,” he said, adding, “I BEEN DOING POSITIVE S—T SINCE I CAME HOME REPORT THAT ‼️GUESS ILL ALWAYS BE THE BAD GUY ‼️THEY CANT STOP ME THO THIS GOD PLAN.” Read his post in full ahead.
