Usher’s seminal album, Confessions, just hit its 15-year anniversary and the Grammy Award-winning singer has a perfect idea in mind regarding how to best celebrate the milestone.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (Mar. 27), the R&B singer shared a glimpse into what he’s been working on in the studio. When taking a closer look at the image, it’s clear the whiteboard he’s sitting next to reads “Confessions 2” at the top of what appears to be a strategically blurred-out tracklisting.

Naturally, Usher decided to further allude to the prospect that a follow-up album to his celebrated album is in the works. He captioned the photo, “Dis what yall want…”

Prior to teasing the possible second installment of his definitive 2004 album, the 40-year-old shared a photo of himself in the studio with longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri, who produced the original.

Dupri reflected on the making of the album during a 2018 interview with Billboard, during which he touched on how the two storytelling songs came to fruition.

“When we did ‘Confessions,’ we really had started with another song called ‘All Bad’ and the ‘Confessions’ part was in parentheses. In that song, I talked about how everything I’ve been doing is all bad. It’s a guy feeling bad about himself, about what he had been doing to the girl, so he just came out and told her,” he shared with the publication last year. “Once that version of ‘Confessions’ was finished, Usher and myself was all like, ‘This is it. This is crazy.’ And then Usher was like, ‘You can’t stop right there. There’s a part two to this story.’ And immediately, as soon as Usher said there’s a part two, my brain clicked and every word of ‘Confessions Part II’ flew out of my mouth. Those lyrics for part two were something that I had actually gone through in my life; they were a reliving of a situation. I just had to put it in the right words that would make it fit for being Usher’s story.”

Dupri and Usher recently went on Instagram Live to give fans a preview of a new song, “Believe,” adding to the speculation this will be one of the songs that makes the cut for Confession 2.

To celebrate his 40th birthday last year, Usher collaborated with Zaytoven to release their surprise joint project A. His latest studio album, Hard II Love, arrived in 2016.
