Fresh off announcing the expansion of his youth-focused financial literacy campaign, 21 Savage has another personal victory to celebrate.

According to a new report from TMZ on Friday (March 1), the Atlanta District Attorney’s Office has rejected the felony theft case he was hit with. As reported, the court decided the case should be treated as a civil matter and decided not to move forward with prosecution.

The charges against the Atlanta rapper arrived shortly after he was released on bond from being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

In the aftermath of his arrest, a club promotor in Georgia had alleged that she booked the rapper to perform in 2016, giving him half of his fee in advance and the other half upon his arrival to the venue. However, the promotor claims he never actually performed, nor fulfilled his contractual obligations, despite being paid and keeping the money. According to the promotor, 21 Savage left the premises after a disagreement with the DJ and opening act ensued the night of the engagement.

The initial report was filed around the time of the events transpiring in October 2016 but interestingly enough was not acted upon until 21 Savage garnered publicity stemming from his ICE detainment. As reported, the promotor, Karen Smith, was seeking $17,000 in damages.

Now that the court has ruled not to move forward with the case, 21 Savage has no outstanding warrants nor any felonies on his record. Good news aside, the rapper is still not out of the clear. At the time of this report, the rapper, who was born in the UK, is awaiting his deportation hearing, which will determine whether or not he will be forced to leave the country.

As previously reported, 21 Savage has begun the battle to gain proper citizenship in the United States, where he has resided since he was seven years old. However, due to Trump’s immigration policy requiring people seeking citizen to leave the country while their request is processed, the rapper may face deportation regardless of the top-tier legal team advocating on his behalf.
