A couple days after offering harsh criticism to Meek Mill, Michael Rapaport is now eating his words.

The actor, comedian and director called into “Sway In The Morning” on Wednesday (Feb. 20) to further elaborate on his recent Twitter exchange with the Philadelphia rapper and express his regret for referring to Meek as a “trash rapper.”

“I should not have used that word,” he told co-hosts Sway Calloway and Heather B. “He’s absolutely not a trash rapper. I shouldn’t use that word. It was wrong and it wasn’t the right word. He’s not a trash rapper. I can’t say it and I wish I could take that word back. I’m harsh with my hip hop opinions and it’s the wrong word. It’s just not valid, it’s not true and it’s not reasonable. It was a stupid word to use.”

The Beats, Rhymes & Life director then shifted the conversation to air his frustrations regarding the “fair-weather Meek Mill fans” who didn’t support him during his past tension with Drake, but are now singing his praises now that he’s back on the top of his game. Rapaport also vented about what led to his vocalizing his harsh words in the first place, explaining how ill-informed hip hop bloggers aren’t contributing positively to the culture.

“The thing that led me to carry on is these so called hip hop bloggers, these culture critics, what are the four elements of hip hop?” he continued. “No where in the elements of hip hop is there anything about a blogger or a f—king culture critics … listen, these mother f—kers… and all this culture vulture s—t. I’ll quote the great Mantronix, ‘It’s for black, Puerto Ricans and the white people, too.’ This is an inclusive music.”

While Rapaport has taken back his initial commentary about Meek Mill, the rapper didn’t hold back in his rebuttal to the actor when he first heard it.

After getting wind of Rapaport’s tweets, Meek shared a throwback photo of the pair, calling him out for asking for a selfie to be taken back in the day.

“Aye @michealrapaport don’t ever use the word trash when you speaking on nothing from our culture unless you tryna get trashed,” Meek responded. “#2 who gave you authorization to be speaking on us? #3 what you charging now? Last time I seen You you wanted a selfie be great tho on the net.”
