After racking up an impressive 3.5 million views in 24 hours with his viral “Breakfast Club” interview, Soulja Boy‘s impact has even made it to “Saturday Night Live.”
The rapper was parodied on the latest episode of the long-running show, which aired this past Saturday (Jan. 26). During the spoof, comedian Chris Redd sports a white Gucci headband and chops it up with “Weekend Update” host Michael Che.
During the clip, Redd (as Soulja) announces he’ll be running for president in 2020. Naturally, it’d be only fitting that the fictitious campaign slogan be “Crank That 2020.”
Che asks the rapper if he’s got what it takes to beat the current president. “Truuuump!? Truuuuump?! The dude that got bodied by the popular vote? The dude that got beef with Nancy Pelosi? Trump? You better get out of here. I ain’t hearing you, man,” Redd responds.
The character later doubles down on his comments: “Without Big Soulja there wouldn’t be no Trump. I’m the one that helped him to the top.”
The spoof draws directly from the “Breakfast Club” appearance during which Soulja rips into Kanye West over his unrelenting support of Trump.
“We looking at you like you goofy, bro,” Soulja said, focusing his attention on West. “You supporting Trump, bro? What the f—k wrong with you? That shit not right. You need to stop supporting Trump. You got to put on for the black community.”
Elsewhere during the “SNL” skit, the pair talk about Soulja’s new video game endeavor and the government shutdown, among other topics.
