Cardi B continues to set her own bar high and assure fans that she’s far from slowing down her momentum anytime soon.
As reported by TMZ, the Invasion of Privacy rapper will be kicking off her 2019 by adding another new milestone to her ever-evolving career — this time with the help of Pepsi.
According to reports, Bardi has been recruited as Pepsi’s next celebrity spokesperson. With this accomplishment, the rapper joins the likes of Michael Jackson, Beyoncé and Britney Spears, who have all starred in their own Super Bowl commercials for the beverage company.
Cardi’s ad, which is set to air on Feb. 3 during Super Bowl LIII, is anticipated to be viewed by hundreds of millions during the televised game and in its aftermath.
Over the years, celebrities such as Pink, One Direction, Madonna, Mariah Carey and The Spice Girls have all had the honor of participating in what has been dubbed year-after-year as the most sought-after commercial spot to air during the big game.
While the Bronx native has repeatedly turned down the opportunity to perform during the Super Bowl, she instead will hit the stage with Bruno Mars on Jan. 31 in Atlanta. Her performance is in conjunction with the three-day Bud Light Super Bowl Music Festival. Ludacris, Metro Boomin, Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Jon, Lil Yachty and Aerosmith will also be performing.
As far as the Super Bowl itself, while Cardi B will most likely collect a massive paycheck from Pepsi, rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi will be joining Maroon 5 onstage as special guests. Scott previously stated he agreed to perform during the Super Bowl under the condition that the NFL join him in making a donation to a social justice organization.
Super Bowl LIII will take place on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Kickoff time is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET.
