Lil Wayne reveals JAY-Z helped him with his taxes

Lil Wayne is expressing his gratitude this holiday season.
True to this time of year, the veteran rapper is reflecting on everything he’s been through and taking a moment to thank those who have been there for him at his lowest of lows and highest of highs.
During the final show of his I Ain’t S—t Without You tour, which took place in Chicago on Sunday (Dec. 23), the rapper took a moment to thank those closest to him, including Swizz Beatz and JAY-Z.
“There’s people like Jay-Z,” Lil Wayne said, addressing those in the crowd. “He helped me out when I was really, really, really down. Really, really, really down. There’s people like Swizz Beatz who’s gonna send me every single beat he make and wants me to rap on every single one until I got my situation straight. He don’t want me to talk about it. He don’t want me to tell nobody.”
He then continued, divulging that none other than Hov even helped him out with his taxes. The revelation that JAY-Z stepped in to lend a hand when it comes to business further emphasizes how far both have come and everything they’ve been through together, especially considering their past differences and since-reconciled tension.
“Jay don’t want me to tell nobody,” Wayne said, spilling the beans. “That man helped me with my taxes. He’s a real friend y’all. Shout out my n—a Jay. Shout to my n—a Swizz. Shout out to my rider Chance. Weezy!”
In addition to running through some staples from his extensive catalog and Tha Carter V alike, the rapper also brought out Chance the Rapper to perform their collaborative track “No Problem” (sans 2 Chainz).
From breaking out of his record deal with Cash Money to making amends with his longtime mentor and business partner Birdman after their years-long beef, this year certainly tested Wayne’s resilience. Thanks to the support of his fans, and friends like JAY-Z and Swizz Beatz, he’s come out on top.
