Although Joe Budden has had an incredible year, serving as the host of REVOLT TV’s new State of the Culture series, the rapper-turned-personality wasn’t ready to let this year’s blessings stop at his career wins.

During a live podcast taping of his Joe Budden show in New York City on Wednesday (Dec. 19), the 38-year-old surprised those in attendance by getting down on one knee and proposing to his girlfriend and mother of his son, Cyn Santana.

“Is this the best relationship you’ve ever had?” Budden asked, approaching her from her seat in the front row. While getting down on one knee and revealing a ring, he can be heard saying, “Prove it to me.”

Santana happily accepted Budden’s challenge (and offer), reacting excitedly to the surprise proposal. Both parties went on to celebrate the news of their engagement on social media after the taping special had wrapped for the night.

“She. Said. Yes. Thank you God,” Budden wrote on Instagram, sharing a candid photo capturing the special moment.

The pair first appeared on Love and Hip Hop together in 2014, although they were not dating at the time. Last December, they welcomed their first child together, as well as made a return to the reality show for its current season.

In August of this year, REVOLT TV launched its new talk show, State of the Culture, tapping industry trailblazer and rapper Remy Ma, radio/TV personality Scottie Beam and host/journalist Brandon “Jinx” Jenkins as co-hosts. Due to its popularity and overwhelmingly positive response, the show will return for a second season in the new year where it will continue to entertain, inform and discuss trending topics as they pertain to hip hop and the culture at large.

Congrats to Joe Budden and Cyn Santana on their engagement! #TeamLOVE!
