After months of anticipation, Meek Mill is in full-on album mode.

From keeping things vague and hinting he was planning a surprise release to confirming the project will drop Nov. 30, Meek has been in full control of his album roll-out strategy.

On Friday (Nov. 16), the Philadelphia rapper took to Instagram to confirm the album is titled Championships and also to share the cover art, which features a close-up portrait of Meek looking focused on the road ahead of him.

The rapper’s fourth studio album is one of the most anticipated of the year and will mark his first release since 2017’s Wins and Losses, as well as his first since a controversial sentencing decision sent him back to jail for a probation violation.

Since his release, Meek has been tirelessly advocating for social justice reform, a theme that he will be discussing throughout the new project. So far, we’ve only been treated to a brief teaser confirming Cardi B is set to appear on the new record.

“I’ve been writing myself since I was probably, what, eight years old,” he shared during a recent profile with Vogue. “I’ve been doing this a long time, so [there’s] always pressure to be better.”

From his personal experiences with the justice system to his highly publicized reconciliation with Drake, Meek Mill’s Championships album just might be his best work to date. There’s certainly a lot to discuss and look forward to.
