According to a new report from TMZ, Fabolous has been indicted on four felony counts related to allegations of assault against his longtime girlfriend, Emily Bustamante. The reports of alleged domestic violence and assault surfaced earlier this spring, after Fab turned himself into authorities on March 29.
Per TMZ’s report, a grand jury in New Jersey has indicted the rapper on four third-degree charges, including one count of possession of a weapon, one count of domestic violence with significant bodily injury and two counts of threatening to kill. Each charge can carry up to five years in prison if found guilty.
Fabolous, who has yet to formally address the allegations, appeared in court on May 10 to begin the legal proceedings after being granted a delay, with Bustamante reportedly appearing by his side.
According to court documents obtained by NorthJersey.com, the Brooklyn native turned himself in to police in Englewood, N.J. after Bustamante called the cops to report the assault. Court documents also state that the rapper punched Bustamante in the face seven times, causing her to have to her two front teeth medically removed.
Fabolous’ lawyer has previously issued a statement proclaiming his client’s innocence, referring to the video footage in question as merely capturing an argument between the two.
