As exemplified by her latest act of charity, Kehlani continues to be a champion for the LGBTQ community, working tirelessly to use her platform, her resources and her art to help others.
Taking to Twitter, the singer recently confirmed that with the help of online clothing boutique FashionNova, she was able to donate $50,000 to LGBTQ centers across the U.S.
“THAT is what i’m most proud of this year,” her announcement reads, pairing the news with a selection of photos showcasing some of the locations’ representatives who happily accepted the donations.
The Bay Area native selected a variety of groups across the country to donate to, with each receiving $5,000. The list of centers chosen focus on providing an array of services and resources to LGBTQ youth, including providing mental health services, assisting homeless, runaway, at-risk teens and fostering safe spaces for those who identify as queer or trans.
Kehlani, who recently issued a statement explaining that she identifies as queer, has taken to social media to share videos and photos of representatives and members from each center holding a giant pink check, with fans flooding her mentions with comments praising her generosity and advocacy.
