In the world of hip-hop, everything is debatable. Everything, that is, aside from the fact that Cardi B has the pulse of rap’s current climate.

Ever since the coastal storm of “Bodak Yellow” became a widespread hurricane, the Bronx native has steamrolled her way through accolades and honors. Last month, her 21 Savage-featured “Bartier Cardi” was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), adding to the rapper’s running list of certifications. Her “No Limit” collaboration with G-Eazy and A$AP Rocky is platinum, while “Bodak Yellow” has surpassed the 4-times platinum mark. If that wasn’t enough, Cardi won the Best New Artist award at the 2018 iHeart Radio Awards last night (March 11) and while accepting the honor, she revealed the news that has been on everyone’s mind.

“My album will be coming in April. Yes sir. April,” she told the crowd, before adding, “Stay tuned, motherf—kers.” After months of anticipation and timekeeping, Cardi now looks ready to drop the eagerly anticipated, still-untitled debut album. The project has been awaited for quite some time. In fact, as “Bodak Yellow” was blowing up last year, J. Cole woke up from his social media slumber to give Cardi some insightful advice about her debut.

Along with the album announcement, Cardi is set to perform several festivals and also rock alongside Bruno Mars on the extended leg of his 24K Magic tour.
