Travis Scott is being honored by his hometown in a massive away.

As reported, the rapper has been awarded the key to Missouri City, where he grew up. He was born in Houston but moved to the suburbs as a kid, with Mayor Allen Owen now declaring February 10 as Travis Scott Day, all these years later.

Taking place at the Community Center in conjunction with the 4th Annual Black History Month Celebration of Culture & Music, the ceremony was held yesterday (Feb. 10), during which Scott gave a heartwarming speech showing gratitude to the city that made him.

“This is better than any award show I’ve ever been to,” the new father said. “My only job is just to inspire kids to be the best they can be, to reach their ultimate height. Everybody has a dream and everybody can do it.”
