Fifteen years ago today (Feb. 6), 50 Cent made his major label debut with the release of Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

As many of his loyal fanbase can attest, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned him a Grammy nomination, later becoming the best-selling album of 2003. When the RIAA last issued a certification for the now-classic, it was certified six times platinum.

Given that Eminem played an instrumental role in Fif’s career, alongside Dr. Dre, it’s only fitting that all these years later, 50 Cent isn’t shy about showing love to his day one and mentor.

Taking to social media, Fif celebrated the milestone with a special shout out to Em, thanking him for believing in him from the jump.

“This is my boy right here for life,” he wrote, sharing a throwback photo of him and Eminem. “l love this guy he gave me my shot, and l ran with it. Classic.”

Naturally, the throwback and sentiment had fans sounding off in response, with many wondering if and when the two heavyweights will collaborate together again on wax.

While 50 Cent has since evolved his career to be that of a businessman, such as with his latest foray into the realm of television, there’s no denying that running back Get Rich or Die Tryin’ will always hit the spot.
