UPDATE: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott named their newborn baby girl Stormi, according to the new mom’s latest Instagram post. Congrats again!

ORIGINAL (February 4): After months of speculation and secrecy surrounding Kylie Jenner’s rumored pregnancy, the reality star and beauty entrepreneur has broken her ongoing social media hiatus to confirm that she is now officially a mom.

The 20-year-old shared the news that she and Travis Scott welcomed a “beautiful and health” baby girl on Feb. 1 in a statement on Instagram, during which she explained why she chose to remain out of the spotlight during her pregnancy.

“I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” Jenner wrote in her post. “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world.”

She then went on to explain that she wasn’t looking to capitalize on the life-changing milestone, after many speculated the reveal would take place on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians or during a massive TV special.

“I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how,” she continued. “There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness.”

Jenner then went on to add her thoughts on the past nine months, referring to it as the “most beautiful, empowering, and life changing experience,” as well as to thank her fans for their understanding as to why she didn’t share real-time updates of her pregnancy like many expected her to.

Their baby girl weighed 8 lbs., 9 oz. and arrived at 4:43 p.m. local time on Thursday. While the name has not yet been revealed, fans are eager to offer the couple their congratulations and warm wishes.

To celebrate, as well as let fans know what she had been up to while keeping a low profile, Jenner also shared an 11-minute short on YouTube titled, “To Our Daughter.” The Tyler Ross-directed visual begins with archived footage of Kris Jenner giving birth to Kylie and goes on to take fans along for an intimate, behind-the-scenes journey leading up to the big day (and big reveal).
