Cardi B done did it again.

Her latest single, “Bartier Cardi,” is a certified banger. Debuting in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Hot 100 several weeks ago, the song is currently sitting pretty cozy at No. 16 on the chart. However, this weekend is all about that other single of hers, “Bodak Yellow.” Aside from being pivotal in her transition from lovable social media/reality TV star to respected MC, the monster record also garnered a bunch of award nominations, including a couple from the Grammy committee. She’ll find out if she takes the golden gramophone home at this weekend’s ceremony, where she is also scheduled to perform.

The Bronx princess may be credited for some of “Bodak Yellow’s” lyrics and praised for her fire delivery on the record, but the hard-hitting beat was the brainchild of Jwhite Did It.

“We finally hit that mark,” he told REVOLT TV upon hearing of the two nominations he received in for both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories. “Now we gotta win one.”

“That sound I did with ‘Bodak’ was different,” he continued. “But I got a whole new wave of sounds you finna see.”

And those new sonics could be unleashed to the airwaves sooner than we think. “I know she just dropped a record,” said the multi-platinum beatmaker, “but I know I have the next record she’s going to drop. It’s called ‘Money Bags.’”

In most cases, making money moves are a requirement for securing the bag, so it’s no surprise that, following the success of her breakthrough single, Cardi would have a follow-up about such.

If the song’s title doesn’t offer enough of a glimpse as to what it’s about, Jwhite helped to make things clear. “It’s about money!” he said jokingly, before adding, “It’s literally about Cardi just leveling up and making sure she motivates the women. That’s really what it is about.”

Helping to craft Cardi’s super-anticipated debut album isn’t the only thing on Jwhite’s agenda for 2018. The Kansas native, who recently had sessions with fellow producer Hitmaka, plans to drop an EP featuring a mixture of his new industry friends and emerging artists, songwriters and producers, as well as launch an imprint called Young Legends Inc.

“I feel like we’re all young and can be legendary,” he said.
