This week, Kareem “Biggs” Burke, the storied co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, joins co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN to talk shop and clink glasses for a rare sit-down during this week’s edition of Drink Champs.

During the spirited conversation, Biggs, who was one of the key players responsible for the impactful release of JAY-Z’s now classic debut album, Reasonable Doubt, touches on his past incarceration, as well as what he’s focusing his energy on now that he’s a free man again.

“He was the guy who made sure Roc-A-Fella was Roc-A-Fella, we’re talking about Kareem “Biggs” Burke,” N.O.R.E. says, making an excited introduction.

As exemplified in the trailer above, the conversation kicks off on a very serious note, talking in-depth about Biggs’ 2010 arrest and subsequent conviction, during which he was sentenced to five years after pleading guilty to assisting in distributing 100 kids of marijuana.

“So I introduced somebody, even though they didn’t do a deal, they wanted me to basically talk so I chose not to and got time for it,” he says, with N.O.R.E. quick to jump in and advocate for him.

“These people actually thought you were selling weed,” the co-host adds. “I had 100 arguments. This n—a Biggs ain’t selling no weed. This motherf—ker actually buys pounds to smoke.”

Biggs, who garnered a tried and true reputation as the “silent partner of the Roc,” is often found working behind the scenes, further proving he’s got much to tell when the rare-but-fitting opportunity does arrive.

To hear more from the man himself about his time spent behind bars and what he’s currently working on, check out the trailer above and be sure to tune in Thursday, January 11, at 10 p.m. EST.

‘Drink Champs’ airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on REVOLT TV.
