D.L. Hughley is synonymous with laughter, and he surely brought the jokes to The Breakfast Club this morning. He also provided an interesting perspective on several currently hot topics. H&M’s monkey business, Bill Cosby being a hater and comedians being politically correct were topics of discussion for Angela Yee, DJ Envy, Charlamagne tha God, Hughley and Jasmine Sanders.

On being mad at the parents of the boy featured in H&M’s controversial money hoodie “If my son wore a monkey shirt – I don’t give a damn how much money they was paying me – you ain’t wearing that. If you ever been to a photo shoot you know the parents are right there. You can’t expect people to be a better advocate for your children then you are.”

On Bill Cosby hating on Def Comedy Jam “He really had a level of control and he really hated Def Jam. He hated it, because it wasn’t his kind of get down. He really tried to make them not do it anymore. He didn’t want that to happen. Look at all those great comics that came from that lineage, but it took comedy in a direction that wasn’t necessarily his perspective. And he really was actively trying to stop it. It’s ironic, because he thought it was a shitty depiction of black people, whereas drugging broads might be worse.”

On why comedians are more politically correct “Everybody thought we were the same. Everybody thought – it was another lie – that we all had the same opportunities. We should all have the same kind of perspective on things.”
