Before being handed his sentence, the mothers of Johnson, Hamilton and Doe B forgave Thomas, who apologized for the reckless act.

Thomas is one of three suspects indicted in the shooting. Jason McWilliams, who ironically also wears an eye patch, and Taboris Mock are awaiting trial. Thomas and McWilliams have been in jail since January 2014.

This news comes just weeks after suspects involved the 2015 shooting death of rapper Chinx were arrested in New York.
