A few days after producer TM88 claimed Atlantic Records never paid him for his work producing Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3” and that their new song was being held by the label, the pair were finally able to release their latest.

The new track, “Mood,” also features production by Southside and is already shaping up to be a must-listen this year.

The song arrives following months of teasers and a name change, with the final version quickly proving itself as a laid-back earworm, full of ever-catchy lyrics.

“Like ooh (whoa), why you wanna mess up my mood? (yeah),” Uzi croons. “Wish that you were me ’cause you’re not cool (you’re not cool, yeah) / Lookin’ like a fool (like a fool).”

Prior to the song’s release, TM88 became the latest producer to speak out about not receiving payment for his work, joining the likes of Sonny Digital, London On Da Track, DJ Mustard and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, who all recently spoke on the subject exclusively for REVOLT.TV.
