Adrien Broner, renown for his achievements as a professional boxer, is no stranger to the idiom that art imitates life.

For his debut mixtape, Wanted, the four-weight world champion draws from the fact that he’s a wanted man in Nevada, stemming from an altercation that went down in Las Vegas earlier this fall. Broner, who has since been charged with battery for the incident, has a warrant out for his arrest after reportedly failing to appear in court last month, a situation he raps about in length on the project’s opener, “The Race Freestyle.”

Broner references the outstanding warrant in Nevada, as well as other past run-ins with the law, throughout the duration of his 13-track mixtape, drawing from his own personal experiences to tell his story from the booth.

As fans know firsthand from following his well-documented journey, the 28-year-old has plenty of material to choose from, such as his facing previous charges of domestic violence, robbery and intimidating a witness, all of which have since been dropped.

Wanted includes features from fellow Ohio natives Cook LaFlare and B Luck, with production being handled by Metro Boomin, Zaytoven and 808 Mafia, among others.
