As Jaden Smith declared on Twitter, sometimes he feels like a rapper.
This Friday (Nov. 17) was one of those days, with the multifaceted creative tapping into his musical side and releasing his debut album, SYRE.
The project, which is named after the rapper’s middle name, marks his first official studio album and clocks in at 17 tracks.
Throughout the album, the 19-year-old experiments with genre, often switching up his vocal style over eccentric production.
The project also features A$AP Rocky on the previously released “Breakfast” and Raury on “Falcon.” In addition to dropping his debut album, the versatile artist also created accompanying visuals for “Batman” and “Watch Me,” as well as celebrated his release day with another video for “Icon.”
On the outro of the project, which arrived two years following his This Is The Album EP, Smith thanks everyone involved with the making of the project in a manner similar to Kanye West on The Life of Pablo.
