Earlier this year, Travis Scott made headlines for a few of his ‘Birds Eye Tour’ shows, namely the balcony-jumping set in New York and the riot-inciting gig in Arkansas. Unfortunately, that trademark high-octane energy has led to something less than desired.
According to a lawsuit filed on Friday (October 27) at the State Supreme Court in Manhattan, N.Y., concertgoer Kyle Green, 23, said he was paralyzed after he was pushed from a third-story balcony at the aforementioned New York show at Terminal 5.
Green claims he was then dragged on stage “without a neck brace or backboard” by Scott’s bodyguards while the rapper performed, and that he has since had to use a wheelchair, reports the New York Times
He suffered fractured vertebrae, a broken left wrist and a fractured right ankle, and is seeking unspecified damages.
In clips from the show, Scott can be seen encouraging fans to jump, saying to one suspended fan: “Turn the lights on, turn the lights on. They gon’ catch you, don’t be scared. Don’t be scared!”
He told another, “I see you. But are you gon’ do it? I ain’t gon’ lie. Turn the lights on. They gon’ catch you. Don’t be scared. Don’t be scared!”
Green is now suing Scott, his manager David Stromberg, concert promoter The Bowery Presents, and security company Strike Force Protective Services for what his lawyer called “negligence, carelessness and recklessness.”
