Americana is to Converse what peanut butter is to jelly, so it’s little surprise the brand’s collaboration with A$AP Nast references the past. Featuring two distinct silhouettes – the All-Star and the One Star -the capsule takes inspiration from Nast’s love of mid-century modern furniture.

The references come through most heavily in Nast’s fabric choices: He went with a corduroy upper for the One Star and a plaid upper for the All-Star. Additionally, “Somewhere in Mid-Century” has been printed on the sidewall of each pair.

“Being born and raised in Harlem, I’m excited to drop my [first] design collaboration in my city. Fashion has always been a priority whether expressed through my style or rap– I am telling a story,” Nast shared with PAUSE Magazine.

“As a young creative, Converse gave me the opportunity to share my vision, passion, and personal inspiration of a timeless era through the collection,” he finished.

The limited-edition capsule is available starting September 28 exclusively through Foot Locker’s Times Square store in New York.
