Rihanna’s influence transcends music, fashion and now politics?

The Grammy Award and CFDA Fashion Award-winner was spotted leaving Élysée Palace following her meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife First Lady Brigitte Macron. The meeting is said to have focused on the “topic of education from global aspects.”

Described as “incredible”, the meeting seemingly left Rihanna feeling hopeful. “I was so inspired and impressed with his leadership. I can’t wait to see where this is going to go, but I think this is the year for education,” she told reporters.

According to WWD, the meeting was the direct result of Twitter exchange initiated by the superstar, where she asked, “Bonjour @Emmanuel Macron, will France commit to #FundEducation?”

Rihanna wasn’t the only celebrity to visit President Macron this week. Bono also graced the French President with his presence. “We talked about the refugee crisis, and how most Europeans now understand that what happens on the continent of Africa matters to them,” the US frontman said of his conversation with the newly elected French leader.

It seems that the Barbadian beauty is fully embracing her role as a global ambassador. In September of last year, it was announced that she, along with her Clara Lionel Foundation, had teamed up with both the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to promote healthy and positive education initiatives around the globe. While leaving Élysée Palace Rihanna also revealed that she has an announcement regarding work she’s doing that involves Africa in the next few months.

Presidential meetings weren’t the only events on Rihanna’s schedule as she visited Europe this week. She was also on deck for the London premiere of “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” a film that finds her playing the role of “Bubble.”
