In addition to albums from Tyler, the Creator, Meek Mill, and Steve Aoki, Lana Del Rey’s Lust For Life LP arrives today. Hear it below.
We’ve already chronicled her underappreciated musical unions with The Weeknd, as well as her long-running recorded relationship with A$AP Rocky, and on this album she also collaborates with super-producer Metro Boomin who helmed song “God Bless America – And all the Beautiful Women In It.”
The tenth track, written earlier this year in response to the political attacks on women’s rights and health, is soaring and optimistic as twangy guitar strums, paper scribbling, piano chords, gun shots, and snares make for an immersive and anthemic soundscape as she sings:
“Even when I’m alone / I’m not lonely / I hear the sweetest melodies / On the fire escapes of the city / Sounds like I am free / It’s got me singing.”
The track was also produced by Del Rey, Dean Reid, Kieron Menzies, and Rick Nowels.
