Though XXXTentacion’s song “Look At Me” has been floating around SoundCloud since 2015, the sleeper hit hasn’t lost its shine. After all, it became the artist’s first and highest-charting single earlier this year, and was arguably (and allegedly) the inspiration behind Drake’s flow on More Life track “KMT.” Despite (or maybe because of) its history, you’ll find it as the first track on his new mixtape Revenge, released overnight.
With just eight tracks, and running at a total of 18 minutes, the project is a tightly curated compilation that showcases XXXTentacion’s seamless segues into a variety of musical genres: there’s the island-pop of the Diplo-produced “Looking for a Star”; the hazy and acoustic “King” punctuated by heavy metal screams; and the jazz piano-backed, 90s-esque hip-hop of “Slipknot.” Get familiar below.
