SZA follows up the release of a new song with more good news: a record deal with RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment.
The singer made the announcement on Twitter. It appears that the deal allows her to still be signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, the same way that Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q are signed to Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records while still being under TDE.
With that in mind, TDE president Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffifth has said that SZA’s long-awaited album CTRL would be the company’s next release after Kendrick’s chart-reigning DAMN. Fans have been waiting for the follow-up to her 2014 debut Z, and SZA has expressed dissent toward the TDE brass for taking so long to release it.
But she released the single “Drew Barrymore” in January, and this week, she released “Love Galore,” SZA’s new single featuring Travis Scott.
