Wale is dropping his album "Shine" a week early on Friday, April 28

Fans don’t have to wait another week for his fifth studio album.

Wale originally planned to release his fifth studio album SHINE on May 5, but the Maybach Music Group rhymer couldn’t wait: he decided to drop the album a full week early on Friday, April 28.

He made the announcement during a one-of-a-kind livestream event with Genius, where Wale gave live annotations for his lyrics and allowed fans to listen to new music.

SHINE is the official follow-up to 2015’s The Album About Nothing. So far, fans have heard four songs from it: “Running Back (feat. Lil Wayne),” “Fashion Week (feat. G-Eazy),” “Fish n Grits (feat. Travis Scott),” and “MY PYT.” The album also features guest appearances by Chris Brown, Major Lazer, Wizkid and J Balvin.

Wale also recently announced the SHINE Tour, which begins on May 5.
