Future took the mask off and in turn scored his biggest hit to date.
When his self-titled album dropped in February, “Mask Off” quickly became a viral sensation. Thanks to its catchy flute sample and infectious chorus, the record did a couple things. It spawned standout freestyles from Joey Bada$$ and Dave East, produced the viral #MaskOffChallenge sensation, confirmed our thoughts on Metro Boomin’s 2017 run, and earned Fewtch another gold certification. The single is also now Future’s biggest hit to date.
Knocking out his previous highest Hot 100 entry, “Low Life” with The Weeknd (No. 18), Future’s “Mask Off” peaked to No. 11 this week on the Billboard chart. This is Future’s best placement as a solo artist on the chart, as his previous high placers were with Drake (“Where Ya At”) and The Weeknd.
