Jay Z hosted the annual Roc Nation brunch this year at the Oakwood Estate in Los Angeles and welcomed a slew of friends from icons to up-and-coming stars.
LA Clipper and perennial NBA All-Star Chris Paul, actors Jaden Smith and Adrien Brody, Brooklyn MCs Papoose and Casanova, Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Jhene Aiko, 2 Chainz, and Diddy were all in attendance, as were a bevy of the Roc Nation roster artists Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and Remy Ma, Big Sean, Yo Gotti, Justine Skye and the newest recruit, Jim Jones.
Jones just announced his management deal this week and a few days ago went on Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 radio show and explained that the hatchet between him and one-time nemesis Hov (and a few other parties on Roc Nation) had been buried.
“I sat and thought about that shit for 48 hours like, ‘Where are we going with this?,’” Jones told Flex about the trepidation he had going into the Roc Nation meeting. Obviously, his concerns didn’t stop him and he’s thrilled to be down with the team.
“With this type of platform, any idea I bring to the table, I know they’re capable of pushing it to the moon,” Jones said of his expectation from the management group. He also told Flex that he hadn’t spoken directly to Jay Z since signing to Roc Nation, but that the two have talked through third parties. Well, chances are they finally got a chance to speak yesterday.
Jim posted a few pics of himself on Instagram with Jay Z, Gotti, Diddy, Justine Skye and Chainz saying, “Too much bag talk, I’m tired.”
