2017 was starting to look like another strong year for power couples. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian reaffirmed their love to the public by releasing a tender video montage, J. Lo and Drake have been cupcaking publicly, gambling together and partying on New Year’s Eve in Vegas. However, one couple has decided to call it quits to start off the year. Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have broken up.

“To confirm, yes I am single,” Nicki tweeted Thursday morning. “Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year.”

Meek and Nick have been together for a couple of years now, but speculation about their relationship turmoil has been rampant for a couple of weeks now since Meek posted a photo of an unidentified woman in lingerie on his Instagram page. Fans were speculating whether it was Nicki or not. Then on New Year’s Eve, no photos of the two surfaced despite both being in the same city of Miami working separate gigs.

As for that work Nicki is talking about, Young Money President Mack Maine has confirmed to REVOLT to that the female music icon has a plethora of guest appearances coming soon and she’s working on a LP that she wants to release this year.

Meek Mill hasn’t said anything yet about the breakup, but on his live Instagram Story page last night, the Philly MC showed himself at what appeared to be a bar. He was drinking and laughing and singing “I Need Love” a la LL Cool J.
