Earlier this year, we saw Marvel transform notable album covers from Chance the Rapper, Kevin Gates, LL Cool J, the Wu-Tang Clan and more into hip-hop variants of comic book covers.
Now, even more lyricists have been subject to the same reworking.
Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo was the inspiration for a new Mighty Captain Marvel #1 cover.
American Gangster from Jay Z became the artwork for Elektra #1.
Kid Cudi’s debut Man on the Moon: The End of Day was remixed for STAR-LORD #1.
And There’s a Lot Going On from Vic Mensa served as the groundwork for a new Bullseye #1 variant.
Last year, Marvel teamed up with REVOLT to debut its first installment of the hip-hop variants. We saw Captain America as A$AP Rocky on Love.Live.A$AP., Dr. Strange on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Spiderman’s Miles Morales as Nas on Illmatic, Ms. Marvel as Lauryn Hill on The Miseducation of…, and more.
