If you listened to J. Cole’s latest album, 4 Your Eyez Only, chances are you had the following question about track three, “Deja Vu”: Why does it sound a lot like Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange”?
Well, hours after the album arrived on streaming platforms and iTunes, producers Vinylz and Boi-1da took to Twitter to acknowledge the resemblance between the two records. According to the duo, they produced it first, and Foreign Teck, the producer behind Tiller’s “Exchange,” ripped off the original beat. In response to the claims, Teck replied online, “Nice try.”
“Damn @Boi1da wake up everyday tryna come for me lmao i’m honored. at the end of the day you one of my favorite to ever do it man,” he also wrote. The Twitter exchange (no pun intended) between the three producers can seen below.
