Over the past year, Apple Music has struck deals with a pool of high-profile artists like Future, DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper and most recently Travis Scott. Now, following an announcement from Larry Jackson, Apple Music’s head of content, you can add Birdman to that roster.

But don’t expect a weekly “Respek” radio program or new distribution for Cash Money Records. At least not yet.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has teamed with Birdman to fund a documentary for the revered Cash Money label. While some believed the deal involved Birdman’s Cash Money Records label, which is home to Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Apple Music’s own Drake, it is said that the contract will further expand Apple’s pursuits into television programming.

Already on the tech giant’s slate of TV programming are “Planet of the Apps,” a reality series about app developers that already has Gwyneth Paltrow, will.i.am, and Gary Vaynerchuk on board as judges. Last month, James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” was also scooped up by the platform, which will be a spinoff from his popular segment in CBS’s “Late Late Show with James Corden.” Back in February, it was reported that Dr. Dre had been secretly working on a miniseries called “Vital Signs.”

Clearly, Apple and Birdman share a lot in common…
