The amount of times that Damon Albarn has teased the return of Gorillaz rivals that of Dr. Dre’s Detox. Though not as bad as the imagined latter, Albarn has been adding hype to the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s Plastic Beach for a long time now and last year Albarn revealed that he and Jamie Hewlett had plans of recording new music in September. Now for the latest update, he confirms the LP is in motion and “should be ready fairly soon.”
Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music, Albarn confirmed that the band will be getting back together later this year, FactMag reports. “Later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together,” he stated. As for the album, the Blur frontman said he is “loving it and it’s getting there.”
“It should be ready fairly soon,” he said.
