SZA, “twoAM”

Top Dawg Entertainment songstress SZA remixed PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Come and See” track into her own rendition entitled “twoAM.” Lyrically, SZA plays off of PND’s verses, providing an additional perspective, more specifically a woman’s view, to the original story—almost as if it’s a sexually-tensed game of tug-of-war. So, while PARTY asks the unknown woman to come and see him for once, SZA counters saying, “It’s my time, it’s your turn”—a conversation evoked by a “twoAM” booty call rendezvous. Clearly, when TDE C.E.O. Anthony Triffith said that “shit about to get nasty real soon,” after posting the entire label’s release schedule, he wasn’t kidding.— Erin Ashley Simon

Theophilus London, “Stay”

Brooklyn rapper and singer Theophilus London has taken a long hiatus from music, but he recently announced on Instagram, “I’m back For My Day I’s,” to promote his latest single “Stay.” Produced by Greg Wells, the vibe-heavy cut is set to appear on his upcoming NY Theo, a follow-up to 2014’s Vibes. The effort sees Theophilus delivering a groovy set of rhymes that sit in the pocket of the catchy dancefloor instrumental. Take a listen above.— Shante’ Merida

Banks & Steelz, “Love & War” Feat. Ghostface Killah

Paul Banks and Bobby Steelz (the latter of which is best known as The RZA) are official and in-effect. Kicking off their collaborative project is this welcomed blend of Hip-Hop and Rock, albeit more uptempo. Joining the pair is fellow Wu-Tang emcee Ghostface Killah, who is always a great choice for a guest verse, and sounds right at home. More or less, the cut feels like it could have been lifted from Twelve Reasons to Die. The chemistry between Banks and RZA is evident and “Love & War” is a nice start to possibly even better music to come.— Robert Hansen

HANZ, “HHH”

Music discovery is what we love and embrace at REVOLT TV, whether it’s from outside sources or from within our company. This time around, a fellow co-worker referred an artist to us named HANZ, and he’s got potential. On our end, not much is known about the New Jersey-based artist besides the name of his debut EP, Grey Matter. However, after listening to his single “HHH,” musically, there is a lane for him. Although it is a bit hard to distinguish his identity, I believe “HHH,” out of all the tracks, shows us a good glimpse of who he is musically.— E.A.S
