Beyoncé’s visual statement, LEMONADE, will compete for contention at the 68th annual Emmy Awards.

As the most-talked about visual experience, Beyoncé’s world premiere event last Saturday (April 23) is eligible for an Emmy consideration and according to Variety, HBO plans to make it happen. As the report goes, HBO is expected to submit “Lemonade” in the variety special category.

The project is credited to Kahlil Joseph and Beyoncé as directors of the piece, while “additional directors” include Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Akerlund and Mark Romanek remains to be seen. As Variety notes, HBO is in the midst of squaring out those details.

Nominations voting begins on June 13 and ends on June 26. The nominees will be announced on July 14.

Beyoncé is no stranger to the Emmy awards, having previously received two nominations, one for her 2013 Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show and another for her 2014 “On the Run Tour” concert special with Jay Z.
