Surprise! Lauryn Hill is taking over Brooklyn this weekend.

Aligning with Tidal, Lauryn Hill has announced a three-day music festival at BK’s Kings Theatre this week, called “Diaspora Calling.” The three-day charity event will be a multi-cultural affair, delivering a showcase of “various forms of visual art, and featuring performances by artists from Africa, and throughout the African diaspora.”

The former Fugees singer opened the music and art even last night (April 13) via a private art gallery, which will open up to the public today and Friday (April 15) from 12 to 4 p.m. To properly close out the event, Hill will perform a special concert featuring Machel Montano, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, Stonebwoy, Jojo Abot, El, Mr. Eazi, Paul Bearbrun, and Wondaboy. This show also takes place at Kings Theatre and will be streaming for free on Tidal.

“Diaspora Calling! is a collection of works intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from the African Diaspora while also illumining persistent and irrepressible themes,” Hill said in a statement. “Even if we work independently, we are a resounding collective voice, both reconciling and embracing our relationship to history, our origins, our future and to ourselves.”
