ELHAE isn’t just another one of your stereotypical “rapper who also sings” guys.
He also isn’t one who just recently started doing it after Drake and others made it more acceptable. Born Jamaal Jones, ELHAE balances singing, rapping and making his own beats over vibed out, R&B-influenced tracks. Jones already has multiple solid projects under his belt, 2010’s The Zero and fan-favorite, 2015’s Aura EP. But he credits his Her: Ark’s Fall tape for the spark that made him notice the impact he was making musically.
The North Dakota born, Georgia-bred army brat ELHAE (Every Life Has An Ending) has been signed to Atlantic for some time now and stated that label-mate Kehlani had a large impact on helping him make a final decision. He also has stated that his relationship with A&R Dallas Martin helped make the signing a reality after Martin heard some of his work. While the deal took years to make happen, ELHAE feels honored to join the legendary label.
He recently released his first full-length project, All Have Fallen to much fanfare. The smooth project boasts 11 brand-new tracks with ELHAE telling REVOLT that track no. 8, “Needs,” receives the best reception during his shows. ELHAE developed his triple-threat talent and soul from growing up in a church environment so I had to also ask him about how they received his hit single “Love A Nigga.”
