Jhené Aiko is #feelingtheBern.
Continuing his ‘New York takeover,’ Senator Bernie Sanders visited the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Saturday (April 9) to have a “community conversation” with a panel of prominent activist voices.
After introducing his panelists, which included actor and activist Harry Belafonte, Erica Garner and former Ohio State Sen. Nina Turner. Exchanging thoughts and views on major issues, as well as expressing their praises for Sanders’ presidential plans, Sanders closed out the conversation with his plans on economic initiatives, police brutality, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the organized rally, musical guest Jhené Aiko took to the stage to perform acoustic versions of “Space Jam,” W.A.Y.S.” and “Eternal Sunshine,” accompanied by a piano.
Aiko is one of the many artist to publicly endorse Sanders, along with Mac Miller, Big Boi, T.I. and Kendrick Lamar.
Take a look at the emotional vibes below, as Jhené and her friends also started the hashtag #BabesForBernie2016.
