When YG and Nipsey Hussle speak, the people listen.

Much of this was proven when the West Coast duo his Los Angeles to shoot the music video for their sharpened political statement, “FDT (F–k Donald Trump).” The politically-charged record turned heads last week for its aim at Donald Trump and his controversial presidential campaign. In a statement to Billboard, YG and Nipsey said the record serves as a voice box for their entire community. “Me and Nip always talk about doing real sh-t about these politics, stepping up and saying stuff other motherf—ers are not doing so we finally hit the studio and really did it,” said YG.

Nipsey further explained their motive, stating, “Overall just hearing his stance on Hispanic people, especially being from L.A. Him being so vocal and one-sided on how he feels about Mexican people as far as categorizing [them] as illegal immigrants and that they make no positive contributions to the country. Number one, I’m from L.A. so I grew up with Mexican people and number two, I see Mexican people at all my concerts that really support. I felt like they needed somebody to ride for ‘em.”

Translating their message from .mp3 form to real life, the duo took to the streets of L.A. to relay their anti Donald Trump anthem and, naturally, a large flock of supporters joined them for the video shoot.

Looking at the streams of videos that have since poured in from the shoot, which took place on Sunday (April 3), the saying ‘For the people, by the people’ could serve as the perfect matching caption.
